With offices in Singapore and Sydney, Achari Concepts is a relationship-focussed consultancy in strategic planning, integrated master planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture and development advisory.

Over the last thirty years the company's Directors have successfully delivered urban design, master planning and development projects across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan, Germany, Finland and the Pacific Islands.

 

Sustainability is core to Achari Concepts approach to planning and design with an acute social conscious and environmental awareness in aligning with products on forefront of sustainable technology. Integrating knowledge and experience from around the world, Achari Concepts is committed to creating better and more responsible developments.

Founded by John Achari, Achari Concepts brings formidable urban design experience, knowledge, expertise and talent for taking master plans from inception and vision through to implementation. John and his team play an integral role in deliver innovative placemaking and destination design, to deliver sustainable and timeless results and ROI.

 

John’s past experience includes client-side development management and designing and delivering projects as a consultant. Most recently, John Achari was Vice President and Director of Planning and Urban Design with WATG in Singapore. Prior to that he led the Master Planning and Urban Design Studio as Vice President for Parsons International Limited in Dubai.

 

Other previous roles include Executive Director of Urban Planning and Infrastructure for the Municipality Department of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, Development Director with Emaar Middle East and Regional Planning Manager with the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council in the UAE. John is currently a part-time lecturer in Urban Planning at the National University of Singapore.

Some of John’s recent notable projects include first prize in The Red Sea Project Competition in Saudi Arabia; Automotive Testing Facility in Queensland, Australia; Dahyat Al Fursan Mixed-Use Development and Makkah RAH Design Competition in Saudi Arabia; Dong Nai Waterfront City in Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam; Dubai Water Canal Mixed-Use Project in UAE; Al Karaana Economic Zone Mixed-Use Project, and master plans for various other mixed-use and industrial developments.

In addition, John has spoken at several conferences on various topics related to urban design including master planning and fast delivery of giga projects in an environment of changing technologies and impact of climate change.
